Based on the design of the popular corduroy Embellished Sport Jacket also in the White Peacock collection, MaryGwyneth constructed this cotton, six wale, tan corduroy jacket in a size 18 (bust 42 inches) to show how the design’s graceful lines tastefully flatter any figure.
The carefully placed, high-cut sleeve arms-eyes make it easy to move your arms without the jacket body lifting up, making this practical sports jacket a joy to wear.
An extra side panel, and dart in the side front panel, allow this jacket to fit very smoothly on a woman’s natural curves.
The price reflects the jacket’s fine hand tailoring, so beautiful yet so difficult to find these days in women’s clothing. The seams are neatly top stitched, reflecting the sporty, casual dress style.
It’s completely hand tailored inside, with hand pad-stitched, traditional hair canvas and muslin interfacing, and cotton wadding shoulder pads. This makes the jacket lie absolutely smooth on the body, and gives a natural feel and drape to the fabric, rather than the stiff plastic feel and bubbled surface that you often get with the fused interfacings in less expensive, mass-produced jackets.
To add a special finish that clearly marks this jacket as a cut above the rest, the hems and feather shaped collar are hand finished in soft, bias-cut tan velveteen, giving them a rolled edge appearance.
Fully lined in long-wearing polyester. Bronze-toned, peacock-shaped clasps close the front, just like the couture jacket on which this style is based. Dry clean.
