Iridescent raw silk dupioni – in assorted colors from the artist’s limited-edition fabric library – compose this original one-of-a-kind, dress-length, long-sleeve coat and hat.

Nature’s allure comes alive in this dreamy ensemble. Pale-yellow warp threads within the fabrics represent golden sunlight sparkling in rising dewy mist. The original three dimensional floral elements are influenced by the designer’s love of Origami.

A kaleidoscope of three-dimensional flowers in lavender, salmon, indigo, violet and pink are made of iridescent silk dupioni and silk charmeuse, detailed hand and machine embroidery and beadwork to add delightful sparkles of color and light.

Green and brown silk ribbons and leafy, embroidered silk appliques suggest meadow grasses. Gold braid and long silver lined beads appear to wave in the breeze like ripe wheat.

Handmade, embroidered buttons and tailored buttonholes gracefully close the front of the coat. Pockets conveniently hide in the side seams. The coat is fully lined in heavy cream colored silk charmeuse.

The matching “Golden Garden Hat” hat is an original MaryGwyneth design, fully constructed using traditional hand millinery techniques, on a frame of buckram and wire. The hat’s shell, embellishment, and lining carry forward the themes in the coat.

The samples shown are one of a kind (OOAK) designer originals, offered for sale as a two piece ensemble. The coat is size 38″ bust. The hat is size 22 1/4″. The coat’s sleeves can be lengthened for a tall size.
